My favorite pianist Sviatoslav Richter once said he avoid going to America because he doesn't like the culture of this country. According to his words, everything is being standardized in America. This is not fun and not aesthetic. I quite agree with his point of view. And I think the most "standardized" thing in this country is hamburger.

Hamburger is a kind of "functional" food instead of "relational" food, you take it fast, a chunk of patty and big bun feed you up then you can rush again. What people call it junk food! How strange! I don't particularly like American's culture but I love hamburger so much recently. My friend JW said he's an expert of burger; I am a half pro also! I gradually found that a great hamburger is in fact a kind of serious "cuisine" and absolutely not junk. A crispy outside soft inside bun, provide you carbohydrate. A chunk of juicy beef patty, provide you enough protein. Fresh onion is the best antioxidant. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes are the great sources of fiber and vitamins. (No kidding brother tomato is a great friend of your prostate gland) What a well balanced diet in a combo!

If you want to have a hamburger in Hong Kong, you have a lot of choices. McDonalds, Burger Kings, Triple O, Freshness Burger, Mos Burger, Atomic Patty, Shake em Bun, Ruby Tuesday, Dan Ryan’s...etc.

Among these restaurants, Shake em Bun is the best. Check this out @ 2 Star Street, Wan Chai.

Working...

He's so intelligent musically! He started to play guitar when he was 17, without any proper lessons, 6 years later he won the guitar contest and became one of the most significant guitar heroes in Hong Kong. As a guitarist, he is the best in his time, blending fusion, rock and classical elements in his playing. Everybody knows he's a Strat veteran but his classical acoustic flamenco influences were also made him so well known among his contemporaries. He performed a lot of hard-to-play and well-built solo in his band during his early underground period but he's so generous to let his band mate do almost all the guitar solo some years later when they're eventually the biggest name in Hong Kong band music scene. In fact he is also a genius rhythm guitar player. In my point of view, he's a guitarist that can handle the funky strumming so damn well and so damn natural. Furthermore his unique way on playing ordinary chords is very influential and I think this is my first Jazz inspiration even earlier then Mr. Eugene Pao's "Outlet" and "By the company you keep". Among all the top musicians in Hong Kong I still think he's the No. 1 in my heart not because he passed away but his charisma is really caused a deep impact in my heart.

I'm 31 this year (at the age when he passed away). I thought I’m a bit talented to play music among my music friends. I'm an influential music teacher in front of my students as well. I just want shout to let all of you and of course my students know how important Ka Kui is in my heart and how his spirit will pass on until the end of the world in this way in many musicians and music lovers heart!

It's getting better all the time

I used to get mad at my school (No I can't complain)
The teachers who taught me weren't cool (No I can't complain)
You're holding me down (Oh), turning me round (Oh)
Filling me up with your rules (Foolish rules)

I've got to admit it's getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can't get more worse)
I have to admit it's getting better (Better)
It's getting better since you've been mine

Me used to be angry young man
Me hiding me head in the sand
You gave me the word, I finally heard
I'm doing the best that I can

I've got to admit it's getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can't get more worse)
I have to admit it's getting better (Better)
It's getting better since you've been mine
Getting so much better all the time
It's getting better all the time
Better, better, better
It's getting better all the time
Better, better, better

I used to be cruel to my woman
I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved
Man I was mean but I'm changing my scene
And I'm doing the best that I can (Ooh)

I admit it's getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can't get more worse)
Yes I admit it's getting better (Better)
It's getting better since you've been mine
Getting so much better all the time
It's getting better all the time
Better, better, better
It's getting better all the time
Better, better, better
Getting so much better all the time

Why earthquake?? My student asked...

Why the people need to suffer?? They asked again...

Doesn't God exist?? Their ultimate question...

Yes, it makes sense. If God is love, He won't let the innocent die; or if God is almighty, he won't let the earthquake happens. When disaster comes, faith being challenged. You can say, God is not love, because He let innocent people die...or...God is not almighty, He cannot control the earthquake. After all we can simply come up to the conclusion; the best conclusion is God does not exist!!!

My answer to these kind of questions are always based on the scripture...

1. Genesis: Evil things not come from God, they come from human being...Oh no!!! God is too kind to us He gave Adam and Eve "free will" to choose.

2. Gospel: Jesus's suffering, death and resurrection part in the Gospel. That's why we don't see painful or evil things as karma but in fact they generates Faith, Hope and Love!

3. John 7: Friends, dig this chapter! St. John's masterpiece tells you why innocent people need to suffer. This is something I always teach my students so that they will not turn their mind to "So Man Fung" and doing something intentionally to avoid "disaster" in their life...

For more info check my hyper-link lower @ Big Eye blog. He's a HK clergy very professional in disaster/painful theology. He's always my inspiration.
