Moses | 22nd Sep 2008 | Religion | (60 Reads)

As all my friends know that my e-mail's name is "moys_zheng". Some of them asked me why it is "moys"; the main reason is this is the root of my name Moses. Moys is in fact Egyptian means "from water".

Some scholars assumed that this is also the root of the word "Music". "Zheng" is PTH "Tsang" but I intentionally add an "h" to make it more unique.

I'm quite sure you don't know, my Saint Name printed on my Baptism Cert. is actually "Moyses" but not "Moses", why? Is this an error?I thought it was an error until recently I checked up some Latin words, and I found out Moyses is Latin of Moses. Haha!!! This is cool! But this is also weird because my baptism took place on the date 1976/11/28. At that time local Catholic church discarded Latin as an official language for more then 10 years, why they still used "Moyses"...can you tell me?

Just like if you are Peter, they'd simply wrote down "Peter" but surely not "Petrus".
