I bought some new gears recently and they are simply amazing! All are budget items but also so useful for home jam and teaching. Let me introduce them to you all.
1. Korg Kaossilator
This is absolutely a DJ stuff producing lounge/electro/club/party music. Very easy to play with, producing groovy beats and looping layers. I like using this stuff accompanying myself when I want some one man band jamming at home. Check my old post, you can see how it works. (Of course if you want to use this stuff to perform music, you need related music knowledge and rythmic sense, no free lunch right!?)
2. Tapco 10 tracks mixer
This is Mackie junior brand, amazingly cheap, it costs me only $8**. ( I have Tom Lee staff discount:-p)
This is a 10 tracks (stereo) mixers. Nicely built with good look. Man, if you have this stuff at home you can jam easily if there's only one amp. This is a must for school gigs and home jam but cheap is still the main point of this stuff!!!
3. Zoom H4 recorder
This is about $1800, original price $2***, Tom Lee staff discount of course.
A very plastic toy but the build in xy position condenser mic are so powerful, producing hi-fi sound for acoustic instruments and vocal!!! You can do 4 tracks recording, field recording, adding external mic, line in and even usb connectable as an computer interface for "Cubase" or simply "Audacity". The built in effects are so professional and particularly good for guitarist.
I can use this stuff making music exam paper's aural part recording demo for jamming. Very cool!!!
